The ONDA Volunteer Program brings in volunteers who help support the guest experience and contribute to the overall atmosphere of the property. Volunteers are an important part of the community and are expected to represent ONDA positively through their attitude, reliability, and day-to-day interactions with guests, staff, and other volunteers. Both current volunteer roles are voluntary positions that are compensated with room and board.

This training focuses specifically on the Social Butterfly track inside the ONDA volunteer program. The Butterfly role is responsible for creating a welcoming, connected, and social guest experience through daily touchpoints and programming.

Although the roles are different, all ONDA volunteers are expected to follow the same general standard of behavior. Volunteers are expected to respect ONDA’s rules, values, house rules, and community standards at all times. They are also expected to be reliable, respectful, responsive to communication, and mindful of professional boundaries with guests. In addition, volunteers are expected to treat the property, staff housing, common areas, staff, guests, and fellow volunteers with respect, since this is a shared home and community.

As part of the program, ONDA provides volunteers with shared on-site accommodation, one staff meal per day, free laundry once per week, and a community-oriented environment. Depending on the role, volunteers may also receive role-specific support, such as access to a fully equipped yoga space or a schedule built around guest social programming. Each role also has its own time commitment and weekly day-off structure.
