How to explain the later-evening Happy Hour extension and when it is most useful to mention.
In This Lesson
- What changes in the offer
- When to mention it
- How it helps build evening bar traffic
Extended Happy Hour
Extended Happy Hour takes ONDA Boquete’s normal Happy Hour pricing and stretches it later into the evening. It is one of the clearest specials to promote because the offer is fixed, timed, and easy to remember.
Purpose
This special exists to:
- drive bar traffic in the late afternoon and evening
- create a stronger bar moment midweek
- give guests a simple reason to come down and stay on-site
Volunteers should know the timing and the exact deals, but the bar team owns the offer.

- Balboa for $2

- “Today we’ve got Extended Happy Hour from 5 to 9.”
- “It’s the normal Happy Hour prices, just for longer.”
- “Balboa is $2, Corona is $3, any wine glass is $3.50, and there’s free popcorn.”
Common points of confusion
- Guests may think all drinks are discounted
- Guests may think it starts at 11:00 a.m. like the other specials
- Guests may ask whether it is different from normal Happy Hour
The answer:
- it is not all-day
- it runs 5:00–9:00 p.m.
- it is the usual Happy Hour deals, extended
- free popcorn is included
What not to do
- Do not quote the wrong time window
- Do not say all drinks are included
- Do not invent other Happy Hour prices
- Do not forget the free popcorn
- Do not confuse this with a full-day drink special
What success looks like
- Guests know the Happy Hour starts at 5
- Volunteers can quote the deals clearly
- Guests understand it is the regular Happy Hour, just longer
- The bar gets stronger turnout during the offer window
One-line summary
Extended Happy Hour is the regular Happy Hour deal from 5 to 9 p.m., with free popcorn and clear fixed drink pricing.
