Guest Experience Volunteer - ONDA Boquete

ONDA Boquete Boquete, Chiriquí, Panama
Guest Experience Volunteer - ONDA Boquete

Overview

Help travelers feel like they belong.

At ONDA, the Guest Experience Volunteer helps create the welcoming, social atmosphere that defines the stay.

This is a people-first role for someone who loves meeting travelers, helping guests connect, and bringing positive energy into shared spaces. Your job is simple: help strangers become friends.

This is not a passive "hang out at the hostel" role. We are looking for someone proactive, reliable, and socially confident -- someone who naturally notices the guest sitting alone and helps them feel included.

You are not a formal tour guide or entertainer. You are a social host: present, intentional, guest-focused, and responsible for helping daily touchpoints like breakfast, welcome chats, group outings, welcome drinks, and evening activities feel easy to join.

Role Summary

The Guest Experience Volunteer helps guests feel at home from the moment they arrive.

The role centers on social presence, low-pressure activity hosting, friendly communication, and helping create a connected guest community.

This is a strong fit for someone who is outgoing, organized, proactive, and comfortable engaging with groups of travelers in a casual, community-driven hospitality setting.

What You'll Do

You'll help support the daily social flow of the property and create a warm, inclusive atmosphere for guests.

Depending on the schedule, this may include:

  • Welcoming guests during breakfast or social moments
  • Introducing travelers to each other
  • Inviting guests to daily activities, hikes, welcome drinks, and evening events
  • Joining group activities as a social host
  • Helping create energy during welcome drinks / Beer'O'Clock
  • Supporting simple evening activities like trivia, games, karaoke, or social events
  • Sharing photos or updates in the guest WhatsApp group so people know what's happening
  • Communicating with the ONDA team about guest energy, attendance, feedback, and anything important

Your role is to help create connection, especially when guests do not naturally meet on their own.

Good Fit For This Role

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality in a relaxed, community-driven setting and understands that guest experience is created through small daily interactions.

It is best for someone who likes being around people, takes initiative, and wants to help shape the vibe of the property in a real, visible way.

The best Guest Experience Volunteers introduce guests. They invite people in. They notice who is left out. They help turn breakfast, hikes, welcome drinks, and evening activities into moments people remember.

What We're Looking For

Minimum stay: 1 month Approximate commitment: 30 hours per week Fluent English Spanish helpful/preferred Comfortable in shared accommodation Comfortable approaching guests and starting conversations Comfortable speaking briefly in front of a small group Reliable, communicative, and respectful Able to represent ONDA professionally in a casual hospitality environment Previous hospitality, hostel, events, guiding, teaching, travel, or guest-facing experience is helpful but not required if the candidate has the right energy and attitude
